UPDATE: Cow theft sweepstake
Bad news everybody!
I missed this earlier in the week - but the BBC reported on Wednesday that Fruit Smoothie was the first cow to be rustled from Cow Parade.
The Caledonia Calling sweepstake attracted a massive 3 entries. Cows were put on the street late last week but May 15 was the official start of the event - so I'll take 00.01 on Monday as the start. Fruit Smoothie was therefore stolen about 48 hours into the event.
Yoshimitsu - You lose (the mug)
The anonymous person who said 39.25 hours therefore wins! I've no idea how you can prove that you are that anonymous person but if you want to try, email me: digbeth@gmail.com
Lloyds TSB says anyone with information about the theft should call 0131 260 0392.

Ah, that's too bad likeay. I was a bit impetuous in my prediction. See, the cows are well stealable, very light, and you'd only need a spanner to liberate 'em. When I made my earlier comment, I made the rash assumption thet they were made of better materials, and properly secured to the deck.

Fruit Smoothie has been found:
"Manus Fullerton of Lloyds TSB Scotland, said: 'We received a call on Friday, telling us she had been found by Edinburgh City Council staff.'"
Right so am I back in the mug comp or what? Sorry to be a 'Manus Turbare',like, but rules is rules: the cow wasn't stolen, just temporarily relocated...
The Jules Rimet trophy was found by Pickles but still stolen in the first place.
Given that a life sized cow sculpture is unlikely to sit un-noticed in the street I would say that it's safe to say that Fruit Smoothie was stolen and then dumped when they the thieves (sorry students):
1) Found out that having a cow in their living room was not much fun
2) Realised that if caught they would be in a lot of trouble.
Nevermind, you can still buy a mug - they hold liquid and are mug shaped - bargain!
Aw ok then.
On the plus side - no-one has claimed the prize yet...so email me your address and if I don't hear from them it's yours!
