Freeeeeeeeeedom!
Some punter is walking all the way from Robroyston in Glasgow to Smithfields in London to celebrate the 700th anniversary of the death of Mel Gibson.
If you're in London on August 23rd you can join him for the last bit of his pilgrimage from Wesminster Hall to Smithfields market. Could be a good chance for a bevvy - there's a great pub nearby.
I'll keep an eye out for more details on when to meet up.

When this guy gets to London, will he self-disembowel and send parcels of himself round the four corners of our sceptered isle (a la the fate of the real Bill Wallace)?
If he's not up for that cup, he can check out the entrail fry up at "The Cock" (see pub link); 700 years of paramilitary cannibalism and still going strong.
Wallace was an upper class opportunist rogue. He is, worryingly, lionised by mush brained nationalists for "kicking English ass" when the truth is that he was as cynical and rapacious as any of Edward's military commanders.
As with so many Hollywood "historical dramas", "Braveheart" is about as accurate as a Lorenzo Amoruso free kick - now there's some dodgy history for you...
